Murn "Mama" Vex
Fightmaster. Pit Boss. Keeper of the Teeth
Murn "Mama" Vex
Fightmaster | Pit Boss | Keeper of the Teeth
You don’t enter the basement without going through Mama Vex. She’s the unofficial queen of the underground ring below The Snake Pit—part bookie, part brawler, all business. Once a famed pit fighter known as “The Widowmaker,” Murn Vex now channels her brutality into managing the city’s most secret and savage fight scene. Her left arm is a glittering prosthetic made from salvaged arcane tech—rumored to house a blade, a taser, or both.
She runs the fights like a sacred ritual: controlled chaos, artful violence, and unspoken rules. Fighters trust her, and that’s rare in a place where trust bleeds faster than coin. She doesn’t tolerate cheating, magic interference, or disrespecting the ring. Try it, and you might wake up with your nose in the sand of the Salt Exchange.
Vex isn’t flashy, but her presence is magnetic—gravel voice, sharp eyes, a half-smoked cigar always in hand. She keeps a thick, leather-bound ledger where she tracks every match, fighter, and bet—written in a code only she and Seraphina understand.
She calls the ring “The Teeth.”
Because that’s what you’ll leave behind if you step in unprepared.

The Lashlace Gauntlet
Wondrous Item, rare – requires attunement by a Barbarian
Gifted to Tilly by Trixie LaFlure—not as a weapon, but as a ward. A charm against control, a shield against her past, and a reminder that beauty can also be brutal.
This delicate black lace glove wraps the back of the hand and wrist like a veil of shadows, with fine chains connecting each finger to a scalloped wrist cuff. Though fragile in appearance, the chains are impossibly strong—imprinted with runes that shimmer faintly when Tilly rages. It feels like wearing a spell stitched from her own heartbeat.
⛓️ Ragebound Chains
While raging and unarmed, your unarmed strikes deal 1d8 + Strength modifier magical damage.
These strikes may deal bludgeoning or slashing damage (your choice), as the chains animate briefly to lash, bind, or tear.
🩸 Binding Echo
Once per short rest, when a creature hits you with a melee attack, you may use your reaction to lash back.
The attacker must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw (DC = 8 + your Proficiency + Strength modifier) or take 2d10 damage and be restrained by animated chains until the start of your next turn.
🕯️ No Master’s Hold
You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, restrained, or paralyzed.
If you succeed on such a save, the chains shimmer and give off a soft metallic chime as if mocking the attempt.
Flavor/Lore
This artifact was crafted from remnants of the shackles Tilly once wore in servitude, enchanted and rewoven by Trixie using celestial thread and infernal ink. It is a spell of defiance in wearable form, a hex against control, and a love letter to her rage.
It does not whisper.
It sings—with the sound of broken chains.
